The Pastoral Services Department of
York Central Hospital is
organized to meet the spiritual and religious needs of patients and their families.
Pastoral care includes religious counseling and advice, information, prayer, worship,
sacraments and other rites and ceremonies. Requests for such services
are made directly by patients, or by families and Nursing Staff, on their
behalf.
Special services are held on "holy" days and on other occasions throughout the
year when requested. Arrangements for such services are made through the Pastoral
Services Department at (905) 883-2156.
Our Multifaith Meditation Rooms are located in Room
2971 at the north end, Douglas Storm Wing and in room 177 in the Centre for
Continuing Care and Rehabilitation. The meditation rooms are open to
patients and their families at all times, for prayer and meditation.
Schedule of Services:
Sunday Ecumenical Service (weekly)
· Every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the Atrium of the Centre for Continuing
Care and Rehabilitation (CCCR)
Roman Catholic Mass (weekly)
· Every Friday at 10:50 a.m. in the 4th floor Dining/Activity Room (CCCR)
Presbyterian Worship Service (monthly)
· First Wednesday of every month at 2:00 p.m. in the 5th floor Dining
/Activity Room (CCCR)
Service of Praise (monthly)
· Third Sunday of every month at 2:00 p.m. in the Atrium of the CCCR
